Might be. PS Vita is my all time favorite already despite the lack of hacks so far.ninjainspandex wrote:True but the psp can fit in your pocket and a pc can't (unless your still rocking jinkos from the 90's) I firmly believe that the hacked psp is still the best portable system out there.
Is the psp the same as a ps2?

I dont want to hack the psp and i know that the ps2 has alot more games than the psp. So i guess i compose a list of games and go from there for the ps2 but does the psp have the same graphics as the ps2?

Well if you don't want to hack your psp I'd definitely go with the ps2 the psp has inferior graphics to the ps2 and only one analogue stick. I mostly use the psp for retro emulation.mas wrote:I dont want to hack the psp and i know that the ps2 has alot more games than the psp. Re: Is the psp the same as a ps2?
Yeah ninjaspandex, I have my modded xbox for all that. My buddy at work were talking about this today and says I should invest on getting the retro collects like fatal fury, art of fighting, metal slug, street fighter, capcom etc since the games are cheap and just in case my xbox craps the bed. Also should I bother with getting mvc 2 and street fighter anniversary and capcom vs snk or guilty gear since I own them on the dreamcast? I'm sure there is a difference between the ps2 and dreamcast versions.
On a side note I'm going to purchase the total control 3 for the dreamcast. How do the sega Saturn controllers work on dreamcast fighters? I heardmixed reviews.

I have two total control 3s they work flawlessly, only one problem is the vmu slot never seems to work. Not a big deal as you can just plug in a second controller and save to that

For the Konami Shmups alone I love my PSP. I love it even more with the Castlevania X collection. and Mega Man Mavrick Hunter X and Power'd Up!!! Plus the fact my PSP 1000 has outlived my DS Lite.
Next PSP Game I get is the Star Soldier collection and a PSP 2000 with Component cables so I can play on my TV.
I LOVE the PSP and need to get more games for it.

Yeah I thought about what I want for the ps 2. I'm going to keep what I have and give back the ps2. I promised myself of the new year to buy and keep just 5 systems. Dreamcast, nes,psp and gba sp. Plus i do have the modded xbox for all my emulation and time/arcade. I promised myself not to buy anything till after janurary but I just bought a dreamcast vga cable for 15.00. I could not passs that up.

I actually like the PSP game library a bit better than the PS2's I think. It's pretty close.
Re: Is the psp the same as a ps2?
I have a huge library of really great PSP games so there is plenty of gaming to be had if you like it already. The games for the PSP are close to the PS2 in quality but are still a completely different set of games.
Back in the day my modded PSP 1000 got a lot of use for emulators and trying PSP games I didn't own. But then I feel behind on firmware updates, new games were not compatible anymore, and I discovered better emulation on the Wii and a GP2X.
But for me, for whatever reason, I just can't get that into the system. The battery life on my PSP 3000 kinda sucks. The video out feature over component is actually kinda lame, its letterboxed down way too small, the cord is too short for most setups, and it's awkward using the system with a cord on the bottom. Overall I think this system will be collecting a lot of dust on my shelf even though its got some great games.

If you think the PSP 3000 battery life sucks then you have yet to meet the 3DS and Vita.
