Me, I'd love to see R-Type Delta 2. Sadly, Irem is dead.
You can still buy Irem Arcade Hits though, which has R-Type Leo, and it's DRM-Free!
http://www.dotemu.com/en/download-game/ ... rcade-hits
I already have that and while Leo is a good game, the emulator (and especially the GUI) Dotemu uses here is not, it has many problems to it. Been looking for the PCB for quite a while but it's on the expensive side.

And it still wouldn't be a totally new R-Type with HD graphics and all that jazz.

Have you played Sonic 4.1 or 4.2, Generations, or Colors?

Have you played New Super Mario Bros, NSMB Wii, NSMB Wii 2, or NSMB Wii U?

sigh....here we go.

I have not played Sonic 4.2 or colors that is true. I have also not played NSMB 2 (not Wii 2 mate) and Wii U. I have played the rest. I have also played Sonic Rush, Rush Adventure and Advance 3.

While maybe one of those games I have missed might have been amazing, the rest were just bland. Sonic was never about speed, it was about tight platforming and it used speed to reward you and help you loosen up after a tight, stressful platforming section.

Mario used to be one of the most inventive series out there (SMB3, SML2 and Yoshi's Island still manage to amaze me, even though I have played them so many times), and the new super mario bros series is bland as hell. It can't even surpass SMW, a game which came out in 1991.

At least we seem to agree on the fact that DKC:R can't compare with the old DKC games

look guys, I am super picky with my platform games. Just don't try to change my mind about this. Believe me, I throw myself on every single platform game I can find, but very few of them manage to hold my interest. It's much easier to please me when it comes to other genres, but not this one.

Thankfully the indie scene has given me many interesting takes on the platforming genre, cause the old legendary developers have forgotten how to make amazing 2D platforming games (thank god for Mario Galaxy though :D)

SoA 2? Hell yes. FF6-2. Really? you want to see square ruin another beloved world? I'd rather see a 3DS remake :D.

Well....I guess a prequel about the war of the magi could be interesting. But I really don't trust square anymore to make it.

I agree 100% with Phantasy Star V and Skies of Arcadia II.

another Panzer Dragoon RPG - I've been dreaming of one since the days of Saturn
Sonic Chronicles 2 - the first one was fun but lacking in many ways; I'd have loved to see Bioware kick things up a notch with a sequel
Lunar 3 - Magical/Walking School and Dragon Song don't count!

And while we're at it, English versions of Sakura Wars 1-4 and Magical School Lunar.

I think this has become another "sequels I'd like to see" thread instead of what the original post was about.

I think he meant crazy game concepts that are too super niche for anyone to ever invest money in.

Like a gym simulator or something (though I'm sure Germany is capable of creating something like that  )

Indeed it has.

I think my wanting Street Fighter X WWE was the giveaway.

But seems every forum I post this thread on it turns into sequels I want to see.

Allow me to kick it back into topic then :D.

I would like to see way more politically incorrect games. If gaming is to become a true form of art it has to break free from restrictions placed upon them cause at the end of the day, they are still considered games, no matter how violent they are.

I'm not going to cause too much of a stir here, but I always thought a game were you played either a prisoner or a guard (or both) in the Auschwitz concentration camp during WW2 would be an amazing interactive experience. The horror and fear you would feel as the prisoner (not to mention the amazing stealth mechanics that could be used for it, if the developers decided to go hardcore and not give us a "rewind" option, so mistakes mean consequences have to be payed), and the difficulty of the player having to stomach what he has to do as the nazi guard (where imo, not doing your "duty" leads to even worse consequences for the prisoners).

So yeah, I don't think anyone has to ask why this will never get made. People don't like seeing ugly truths in their entertainment. Can't blame them, but there should be options for those who do.
