Firstly, forgive me if this is not the appropriate forum but I couldn't see where else I should post.
Anyway was clearing out some old gamecube stuff and came across an 'Authorised for Rental' copy of Mario Party 5. I have been looking about the net but I can't really find much on the topic other than the obvious, was produced for a company authorised by Nintendo to rent games to people.
I guess it's kind of like the crappy plastic PS1 rental games although I've checked eBay and I don't see a single example of a rental gamecube game for sale (or sold) worldwide (looking on eBay.co.uk) apart from a sealed Windwaker Rental which has an asking price of over £1,500. Normal sealed copies are only at around £150 so I have no idea if he is just being very unrealistic or it genuinely is that hard to find.
If anyone has an info on it or perhaps an idea of its value I'd love to know. I assume that rental only runs would have been fairly limited. As it's an English only disk/manual I would conclude it was from a run only for the UK rental market and there can't have been that many officially licensed to rent places.
I have included a few pictures so you can see the differences. The holographic sticker on the disk appears to be an official Nintendo seal of approval which says 'Authorised for Rental' with the Nintendo logo under it and from what I gather was put on the disk in the factory.
