I don't believe Genesis Plus GX has an automatic update feature. Best if you just updated manually.
Also keep in mind that you need the BIOS file in the "/genplus/bios/" directory. It has to be named, for example, "bios_CD_U.bin" if your using the US BIOS.
Genesis Plus GX Sega CD Support.

Ekeeke has just released a pre-compiled beta that has audio track support!

It's a beta so expect to find some bugs and when you do please report them.
I've tested it on Final Fight CD and it's working like a dream

Version 1.7.1 is out!

The biggest thing that was added was CD-DA tracks emulation! The current state of Sega CD emulation on Genesis Plus GX is now essentially perfect, in my humble opinion.
Go see for your self!

Thanks for continuing to update us about this, LentFilms. I never expected to have such an excellent solution for Sega CD games, or most of the other emulators people have made available on the Wii, for that matter. Very exciting stuff.

Re: Genesis Plus GX Sega CD Support.
So I finally decided to try to get this working, now that I have my Wii unpacked.
I have the emulator and bios working, and the games are booting, but I'm not getting sound. The files I have so far are all iso+mp3. So, do I need to create a cue for each game, or do I need to combine the iso and mp3 files into one file? And, what program would I use to accomplish this?
Edit: Nevermind, I figured it out, just needed a converter to change the mp3 to .wav (in case anyone else is as stupid as I am with this stuff and didn't already know that).
Damn, this works like a charm! Was playing some Sonic CD last night
I even managed to get PC Engine CD games running on the Wii as well, and tried out some Gates of Thunder!
Thanks again Lent Films. I already loved my Wii for emulation, but now I would not trade it for anything.

Re: Genesis Plus GX Sega CD Support.
I had this working a while back, but then I discovered the the first couple games I tried, had flaws. Couldn't get Earthworm Jim CD to play the music. It would play for about 10 seconds, then stop. I gave up messing with that one. I FINALLY got Hook to play the music (the only reason to have the Sega CD version IMHO). Now I'm working on getting Mortal Kombat working.
Anyone know of a way to play these games from a USB device, rather than an SD card? I can only fit like 2 games at a time (with .wav files) and it's a hassle. I can't find any settings to change the directory. Anyone know if this can be done or not?

Re: Genesis Plus GX Sega CD Support.
I just today got it working from an external usb hard drive.
You have to format it in FAT32, and then just copy your "genplus" folder into your usb device, and when you run the emulator, go to settings, and in I think "system", you can change the loader.
It also works for PC Engine CD games, which is quite exciting. If you need help with any of it, I can point you in the right direction, as I literally just figured it out myself
Edit: Whoops, its not in system, its in "menu"

Very exciting time to receive a wii for Christmas! I knew there was an emulation scene for wii; I didn't know it was this good.

That would be GREAT! How do you do it?
