100 Yen: The Japanese Arcade Experience is another one that is in the works. It has been shown before I guess but I'm not sure when it will get a full release.

Got the urge to watch a few video game documentaries this weekend, and here are some thoughts:

"The King of Chinatown"
An interesting look into pro level fighting games, but is ultimately more about the guy "Tri Force" and his shady organization than Justin Wong and his abilities. Overall a good movie worth watching.

"Order of Ecstasy"
AMAZING! This one captivated my Wife and I all the way through. It was very insightful and charming. Seeing the Tetris Masters all gathering and showing mutual respect for each other was great. I had to fire up some tetris after watching this too! I quickly learned that the version I play on my 3ds download is nowhere near as hard as the NES version (which I decided to go with) as I got my ass handed to me quickly.

Last was "King of Kong"
Holy crap, I cant believe how angry this documentary made me feel. The only way I can describe Billy Mitchell is "Chump". No matter how the movie was edited or anything "taken out of context" the footage is right there of him not competing for the score, and somehow getting that shady ass tape excepted as a legit score. The fact that Steve's original score was not accepted because of a possible tampered board is total BS. I cant believe how much Billy seems to be riding on the coat tails of his success as a kid (and with the pac man thing i guess), and refuses to publicly display his skill in DK. Even after Billy stated to the extent "Unless you can prove in person, with a crowd, with that pressure, your score means nothing" he still didnt step up to the game to prove his superiority. Sorry for the rant, had to get a bit of that out lol. This was definitely one worth watching, and highly recommended.

Yeah, that's pretty much the way I felt after watching that.

There's a good interview with Roy Shildt AKA "Mr.Awesome" here and he gives a bit more information about this infamous incident and the movie. I couldn't agree more with the man.
