Nintendo Magazine System, they were the Nintendo Power of Australia and I loved them aptly as a child. Unfortunately they went out of print in 2000/2001 which was unfortunate.

tough break for them. if they had lasted 4 more years with the DS and soon to come Wii their sales would have probably picked upDaniel Primed wrote:Nintendo Magazine System, they were the Nintendo Power of Australia and I loved them aptly as a child. Computer and Video Games.

Tips & Tricks you mean? Anyway I used to wince at the US-based publications, since about 60% of the mag was ads! The only exception I can think of was CGW and PC Gamer (iirc) which had columns and expert opinion and such. Certainly wasn't written for kids in mind!kingmohd84 wrote:its hardly journalism , but its still in print, I think its Code Master or Cheaster master, game master, something like that
it had the cheats for like everything! it sure serves what its meant to be for
As for my picks: Mean Machines, Sega Magazine and Official Sega Saturn Magazine. I think Edge read too much into things, and Gamesmaster has sold its soul a decade or so ago. GamesTM is probably the best currently-in-print magazine out there.

They used to be decent, right until later into the PS1 era where everyone tried to be mainstream and hype things up like crazy.Niode wrote:Computer and Video Games.

Well I did stop reading it when they stopped using the High-Five rating system...

I'll have to put in my vote for Gamefan as well. The final days of Gamefan when Rick (Mears, I think) ran the online-only magazine were really quite pitiful though.
Did anyone read Intelligent Gamer? I only have one copy that I randomly picked up a long time ago but it has a lot of really good Saturn coverage. It's got some reviews/previews of Dragon Force, Albert Odyssey and some others. It even has an awesome Dragon Force foldout poster/cover.
