OK, so I got some more details, and I figured the machine would look like this, so it's no disappointment, really. The cab is a little beat up, it's a 19" screen (blech! why would they even MAKE them that small!?), definitely a conversion, not an 'official' SFII cabinet, unless it was one of the first non-huge versions. Here's a pic.
So NotBlaine, I have a question for ya. I powered the machine on, and got absolutely no response what-so-ever. No noise, no 'bzzt' of the monitor starting up, nada. So that means it's either a bad power supply, or a bad fuse.. but the problem is I don't know where to look for fuses. Do you have any suggestions?
DUUUDE! I just scored a FREE SF2 cabinet!
UN. BE. LIEV. ABLE.
I still haven't found the fuse, but guess what? I looked at both of the interlocking switches, and apparently one of them was in the 'off' (or maybe on) position. I moved it, tried it and "BZZZRRRRROOOM..." I'm now playing Street Fighter II. Incredible. Oh well, I bought a multimeter, and don't need it after all but I'll keep it for future reference.
Looks like I've got a fully functional SF2 cab. Now it's time to go to work on it, and get it nice and clean, and restored, new controls, and maybe a new monitor if I can afford it later on down the line.

Nice! Thats amazing how this worked out for you. Karmic reward? (for helping me with my street fighter situation)

That's awesome! You can try and find marquee's and cab art online. I actually see alot of them listed in craigslist yard sale posts.
Re: DUUUDE! I just scored a FREE SF2 cabinet!
ha ha maybe so nate.
Yeah the marquee I have is actually in pretty good condition. I need a new marquee light, it fell out while we were moving it. Kinda scared me because i heard *clang clang clang!!!* but when I opened it, the flourescent bulb was just sitting in the bottom of the cab. I'm surprised it didn't shatter.
My main goal is to maybe turn it into a MAME cab since I've had an itch for a while now for another one. I've set up a blog about it, which is in my sig.
I have to admit, I'm already kinda bored with SF2, but it's really tough getting used to it again, so it still keeps some of its replay value. I'm not used to the timing anymore, the game is so slow. Fighters have come a loooong way from the original SF2 and it's clones.
I want to get a Street Fighter II Turbo board for the time being though, that's my favorite iteration of SF2.
