but remember, Super Nintendo does what Genesis Don't...wait.sosoyo180 wrote:I totally agree with you, one day I shall have a Genesis and a Super Nintendo and they will live with one another in harmony!I hope you will rediscover the Genesis someday because I strongly feel the two consoles are not a "one or the other" decision.
But I kept some of my favourite Genesis games till that day comes, like Strider, Hyperstone Heist, Ristar and Shaq Fu for some reason.

Re: Best Nintendo Decisions
Getting GameCube component cables before they were ultra-expensive.
Way WAY back in the land of 1995, I bought some SNES games from a family friend for about $20 a pop (all complete). It included Chrono Trigger and Yoshi's Island ... which are two of my favorite games today.
I also jumped on a really cheap grocery store video game sale where I snagged Super Metroid for even less. (has everything ... but I need a new manual)
I'm actually really happen I got a GameCube when I did. If I hadn't I probably wouldn't still be playing games, and I certainly wouldn't be playing Nintendo titles now.

I'm glad I never had to own a gamecube, pretty happy without it. Reason is tiny controller.

^^
you don't have to own any video game console. lol it's a choice.
mine would be that from very early on, even if that meant I had to spend more to import, I went NTSC with most of my earlier consoles and games. I skipped most of the PAL nonsense with games running at a slower speed with borders on screen.

Same here. Either buying my Wii U or buying Metroid Prime Trilogy when it came out. I had no idea it was going to be a limited run and end up so valuable. Talk about luck, hahaRyaNtheSlayA wrote:Buying the Wii U has turned out to be one of the best decisions regarding Nintendo I've made. Honestly, I love that thing so far.

That's actually the reason that I love my Gamecube so much and that it has my second favorite controller after the Wii U gamepad.benderx wrote:I'm glad I never had to own a gamecube, pretty happy without it. Reason is tiny controller.

Epic fail.sosoyo180 wrote:About half a year ago I sold my Sega Genesis model 1 with some games for a Super Nintendo and some great games.
Best 'Nintendo decision' I ever made was buying a Genesis in early 1992 instead of a Super Nintendo. I didn't bother getting an SNES until like 1998. I got Earthbound for $5 at the same time with the strategy guide. Oh, and Earthbound is overrated and I never really cared for it all that much. Yes, I did play it through.
Next best 'Nintendo decision' I ever made was buying a Game Gear in 1992 and not bothering with the Game Boy.
Other best 'Nintendo decision' I ever made was getting a Sega CD in 1993 instead of bothering with the Super Nintendo. Sonic CD, Lunars, Popful Mail, Keio, best version of a 16-bit NHL game, Silpheed and Android Assault made it all worth it.
Another best 'Nintendo decision' I made was getting BOTH a Saturn and PS1 in the 32-bit era and not bothering with the N64 until the mid-2000s. I never regretted that one at all.
Oh, and another best 'Nintendo decision' was getting a PS2, and then an X-Box, and not bothering with the Gamecube until a couple years ago.
Oh, and yet another best 'Nintendo decision' was getting a PS3 before I bothered to get a Wii for the girl I was with at the time. The PS3 gets plenty of playtime. The Wii is... for Mario Kart.

I am so with you! I recently upgraded my original NES to the toploader and boy was it worth it!Nintendork666 wrote:Never letting go of my childhood NES (toploader).
Re: Best Nintendo Decisions
My best Nintendo related decision was to buy the SNES near launch at the grocery store. It was one of those rare units which did not discolor over time due to exposure to oxygen. My worst Nintendo decision was to buy an N64 at launch. Two games available. Yeah. Or maybe a Wii at lanch. Or a Wii U at launch. Ug. I really should wait until there are more games worth playing before I buy this stuff. Or maybe buying an s-video cable for my N64. Or modding it for RGB. Seriously, there's next to no difference between RGB and s-video on the N64 and there's very little difference between s-video and composite since the N64's graphics are so blurry/fuzzy/foggy/dull/dark/vomit-colored by default. It's like trying to polish a turd.
