That game has a crazy back story, and if you like it, you should thank the nice people of Rhode Island for covering its development costs:dsheinem wrote:: I bought Kingdoms of Amalur...

Despite what the article says, however, I have heard that it is pretty good.

yeah, the craziness behind it is a lot of the allure of checking it out finally. plus it is supposed to be pretty decent (an 81 on Mectacritic is nothing to sneeze at)prfsnl_gmr wrote:That game has a crazy back story:dsheinem wrote:: I bought Kingdoms of Amalur...

When you say new, do you mean new new and boring appliance Civic, or do you mean new to the family new but old and awesome like this one?dsheinem wrote:: The wife got a brand new car today

I also enjoy games with a sordid histories, and if I had anything that would play it, I would pick up too.dsheinem wrote: yeah, the craziness behind it is a lot of the allure of checking it out finally. plus it is supposed to be pretty decent (an 81 on Mectacritic is nothing to sneeze at)

It's quite fun. Ignore the side quests though. If you end up doing them, you'll become massively OP and the game wont present a challenge at all.
Playing through the story, and maybe a side quest here and there, leads to a very rewarding experience. There's quite a lot of pretty scenery as well. Took me about 18 hours to finish the game, so even just playing the main story, it's not too short.

Yes, well, I also couldn't get any of the TV's there to register a signal when I hooked it up, so I'm worried it might be more than a faulty belt. But then again, I don't have any experience with Laserdiscs, so I could be wrong.Hobie-wan wrote:It is very likely that the belt that cranks the spindle up and down and moves the tray is stretched/broken/awol and needs replacing. If so, that is probably the only thing wrong with it.Michi wrote::......couldn't get it to work. It would turn on, but I couldn't get the damn thing to open. And it only would have cost me $1.50. So, so, so close.
I believe the model was a Pioneer V6000A (though I could be wrong) if anyone has any idea how well these are supposed to work.

That's a metric ton of *expletive* right there.dsheinem wrote:: I have to install Origin to play it
