:D : The wife got a brand new car today
:( : It's a Civic (maybe this is ok, though?)

:D : I bought Kingdoms of Amalur and all DLC for like $11 on Cyber Monday, a good price point to try out the game.
:( : I have to install Origin to play it

That game has a crazy back story, and if you like it, you should thank the nice people of Rhode Island for covering its development costs:

Despite what the article says, however, I have heard that it is pretty good.

yeah, the craziness behind it is a lot of the allure of checking it out finally. plus it is supposed to be pretty decent (an 81 on Mectacritic is nothing to sneeze at)

When you say new, do you mean new new and boring appliance Civic, or do you mean new to the family new but old and awesome like this one?

I mean a 2013 Civic with 4 miles on it.

I also enjoy games with a sordid histories, and if I had anything that would play it, I would pick up too.

It's quite fun. Ignore the side quests though. If you end up doing them, you'll become massively OP and the game wont present a challenge at all.

Playing through the story, and maybe a side quest here and there, leads to a very rewarding experience. There's quite a lot of pretty scenery as well. Took me about 18 hours to finish the game, so even just playing the main story, it's not too short.

She could do much worse than a new Civic. My wife loves hers. Mmmm, new car smell.

It is very likely that the belt that cranks the spindle up and down and moves the tray is stretched/broken/awol and needs replacing. If so, that is probably the only thing wrong with it.
Yes, well, I also couldn't get any of the TV's there to register a signal when I hooked it up, so I'm worried it might be more than a faulty belt. But then again, I don't have any experience with Laserdiscs, so I could be wrong.

I believe the model was a Pioneer V6000A (though I could be wrong) if anyone has any idea how well these are supposed to work.

That's a metric ton of *expletive* right there.
