Wii-U requires a reboot for Wii games. So it's pretty inconvenient if you want to just jump into a quick Wii game. It's not like the Wii was with GC games where you just pop the disc in and it boots up. It has to boot into a totally seperate OS (same goes for WiiWare and VC titles for the time being, I'm assuming Nintendo are gonna bring them across at some point). It's probably more convenient to just switch consoles than having to wait 15-20 seconds for the Wii-U to reboot.
I'm keeping my Wii because it is hacked, I load all my Wii games from USB HDD so unless the Wii software on the Wii-U gets hacked quickly I think I'll be keeping my Wii for a very long time.
Anyone going to dump the wii now that wii u is out

Wii Mini really changes things, I think. Perhaps this will inspire a few new games for the Wii? At the moment, the only one left to come out is the game of the new Dreamworks movie, The Croods.

As others have noted, you're not going to get anything first party for the Wii - even with the Wii Mini out. There's a large library they're hoping new buyers will tap into.

It does ensure one thing though: first-party titles will stay in print for another year or so.

So I just read wii mini is only for Canada and for the holidays. It also states no wifi and no gamecube just wii games only. I don't know if this is a good thing. I know a lot of people use the wii for netflix and hulu and the nintendo shop. I do know this this is going to be rare and expensive in a few months
