I was enjoying this until I got the newly redesigned last stage (Albatross). They completely messed things up as far as I'm concerned. The game's difficulty is made for short stages where it takes you a handful of tries to complete. The final stage is about six times as long than any other stage in the game, and is utterly brutal if you haven't stockpiled and ass ton of extra lives. I wouldn't even be trying to complete it if you couldn't glitch your way past half of it.

The difference between cheap and difficult is a fine line. I guess it depends whether you think the programmers specifically tried to make it this way, or if you think the game is broken. I personally think the game, for the most part, is excellently designed.
I've had a lot of trouble with the swinging, but it seems to be part of the challenge...and something that can be overcome with an effort. I've had to put in many hours, but I am getting better all the time, especially after working at the challenge rooms. And for me, I'm still having fun (which is of course most important).
And how quickly do people want to master games? I don't mind if it takes months! I just started playing Mega Man 2 for the first time two weeks ago, and I can barely beat 2 levels. At first the limitation in his jump'n'shoot bothered me and made the game difficult, but I'm getting used to it.

I just expect a game in this day and age to do better than this. The swinging just feels horribly broken. I'm sure it was fine back on NES, with the sprite limitations and all, but I dont think they should have so strictly followed those animations and all the glitches and oddities they had. You know you've done something wrong when the rope in Worms 2 absolutely trumps the swing mechanics in your game. There's way too much randomness here. You never know when the hook will catch or when it wont, when you'll swing through a surface or when you wont, and when exactly you should fling and fire it again. There are ways to literally glitch your character into a solid wall. It makes no sense.

There is no randomness. I can do everything consistently. I only believe 'cheap' exists in a certain percentage of arcade titles whose number one priority is to suck quarters.
This game is no different than Mega Man, Mozgus. Learn the levels and the game mechanics and the game is a breeze. Maybe it requires more time to do so...

I already explained why the hook is unreliable. I'm sure there's videos all over the net that demonstrate it. I don't need to repeat myself. Don't compare this to Megaman.ZenLogikos wrote:There is no randomness. I can do everything consistently.
