I hear split opinions on the flashlight "issue" in Doom 3... what does everyone think who's played Doom 3? Was it annoying not being able to see or was that the challenge/atmosphere/whatnot that defines the game?
I played the Xbox version so switching between weapons wasnt as fast and fluent but it still never bothered me that much.
OP already mention this fact, but there's a collector's edition of Doom 3 that has both the original games in it. It might be cheaper to get than this.

Also looking to buy: Ys III (TG-16 CD), Shadowrun (Genesis) Hori N64 mini pad and Slayer (3DO) in long box/just the long box

well i already have doom 3 collectors edition and that is already backwards compatible on the 360 and has doom 1 and 2 on the disk so i see no point of picking up the hd version. may pick it up used if i find it for $5-10.

According to the EB Games employee I spoke with yesterday, it also includes all the old school games as well. This would be the biggest selling point for me, as I love the originals.
His point was that the first two games aren't being remastered; you're just getting the original DOS games.

Aww, the originals would benefit from cool graphics, it's the only issue the games have. Doom 3 was boring as fuck

I thought it was very silly because it made the game forced and unnatural. Well, the level design was already like that but it really highlighted the issue.

I bought it today, for PC. I bought the oXbox version years ago because back then, my PC couldn't handle Doom 3. I never bothered to upgrade to the PC version when I got a new machine, so this re-release was the perfect opportunity. Haven't played it yet, but so far I've been hearing the PC version has framerate issues even on high-end setups. I hope they put out a patch for that.

Supposedly if you have the original Doom 3 on Steam you get a discount if you upgrade. I have the original and I couldn't find out how much of a discount you get.

As in 10 bucks off, making it 20; or you get the full upgrade for only 10 bucks?
