I can't really see a reason to buy it for PC. So probably not.

Sorry, I mean the 360 and PS3 release that came out in stores today. I personally will be picking it up, if just for the chance to play the originals again in HD.

I think its just Doom 3 in HD. Also, the flashlight is always on when playing it.

After a price-drop this might be tempting. Will watch a video to discern what's been "remastered".

Maybe when the Oculus Rift VR goggles come out, as the big thing the PC version of Doom 3 really got was support for that tech (assuming they don't just include it anyway, I think the Kickstarter bundles are).

According to the EB Games employee I spoke with yesterday, it also includes all the old school games as well. This would be the biggest selling point for me, as I love the originals.

Doom 3 BFG Edition
A re-release of Doom 3 called Doom 3 BFG Edition was released on the 15th of October 2012 in Australia, and will be released on October 16[70] in North America and three days later in Europe on October 19 for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The BFG Edition features enhanced graphics, better sound with more horror effects, a checkpoint save system, and support for 3D displays and HMDs. The game also includes the previous expansion Resurrection of Evil and a new single player expansion pack called The Lost Mission. Additionally, it includes copies of the original Doom, and Doom 2. The BFG Edition also features the ability to use the flashlight while holding a weapon, in the form of the so-called armor-mounted flashlight

HD pixels, hooray! ... ;)

I hear split opinions on the flashlight "issue" in Doom 3... what does everyone think who's played Doom 3? Was it annoying not being able to see or was that the challenge/atmosphere/whatnot that defines the game?

It was annoying. Luckily, there were mods that came out very quickly that fixed it.
