Is the Governor completely out of the show? Was he replaced by that racist douchebag?
I haven't really been following the show/this thread because I prefer the comic to such a vast degree. I only watched the first season.
They have just left the farm/going on to the prison. I believe a while back someone was said to be playing *that* role.
I'll have to watch all of this season online, sadly. Damned DISH. I still prefer the comic book, becasue a lot of the characters work better for me. On the difference between comic Rick and TV Rick...
The number 1 thing is understanding the different audiences. Comic book fans need action or some form of constant large scale conflict, where the large areas of character development in the show wouldn't fit. Gamerforlife compared comic book Rick to TV Shane. I can see the comparison, but there is a difference. When TV Shane shot an innocent man, the man was not one that would cause harm purposefully, although losing him did help the boy. (Having trouble with names right now.) Now, when comic book Rick shoots Dexter, there is already a slowly escalating conflict- anyways, how far would you trust an admitted murderer? I've been around them, and its not often that you see one that legitimately had a one time case of the loonies.
Gamerforlife mentioned comic book Rick watching a child get murdered and not stopping it... I'd need my memory jogged, as I don't remember that.
Wow, the governor arc I'm currently reading has some extremely dark shit. I wonder how much of that will make it to TV. The comic really goes in a lot of different directions with character arcs and the overall level of just effed up shit in the story. It's a very different entity from the show. Rick isn't even really the same character, neither is Carol. The comic really makes you just hate all of humanity. Everybody is pretty effed up in the book, including main characters
I will say though, Michonne is awesome. I really hope the show uses her well. She's a standout character

It's like an echo chamber in here.
Don't get attached to anyone, and I mean anyone.
If Michonne didn't appear in the season finale, I probably would be done with the show. I bet if the torture scenes will be on screen, they'll be heavily shadowed or simply inferred.

There were some characters I actually deeply felt for when they died. I was quite put off. Definitely a great series, and I think the Governor arc is where it really pulls together. (Some have been tough on the later issues, but the snippets I've read are just as good.)
Pretty good episode. Not a whole lot happened but really laid the groundwork for a lot of action this season.
Am I the only one hoping to see Lori die in child birth? (not gonna happen but i can hope.) That bitch is annoying.
Did anyone notice in the previews that one of the zombies looked like Daryl? It was a quick snipet from the extended trailer from comic-con. I hope they don't kill him off...he's the only good character.
