I believe it would be better as the GC edition. Better multiplayer, graphics are better, bugs have been fixed, and the Chao Garden has been majorly improved.
Don't get me wrong, I love SA2 for the Dreamcast, but I just like the Gamecube port more. Except the controls.
Ya I would rather have the dreamcast version and as for the graphics and multiplayer that does not matter cause they will redo that for this release.
Personally I though sonic adventure 2 on dreamcast looked amazing and was beautiful at around 60 frames a second. I believe it wan that high

Well, to be honest, if they use the Gamecube version of the Chao Garden I'm buying.

Yes... Instead you just have about 4 million levels playing as Tails and Robotnik (Sorry, Eggman) in a stupid slow robot suit to enjoy instead At least with SA1 you could just play all the Sonic levels when you wanted and weren't forced into playing as certain characters when you may not feel like it.
To be fair though, both are fairly good games, I guess. Some people enjoy them and they certainly don't deserve all the hate they get.
I thought the gameplay with tails and robotnik were very cool and fun
Also no one messes with my sonic adventure games! When these came out my god they were so great and I could not wait to get my hands on them. IT was finally sonic in 3d and with amazing graphics. I still love these games till this day dispite any flaws they may have.
God I loved this game on the gamecube. Major system seller for me.
And I know the Tails and Eggman stages annoy people, but imo you are being a bit unfair. It's completely different gameplay from the Sonic/Shadow levels which are AWESOME, but they are still fun. And the Knuckles levels, while badly designed, are at least a bit improved compared with the same stages in SA1. And at least no more Amy and Big the cat.
By the way, how much of the cheering in that video is for the game itself and how much is just cause they heard Live and Learn play again?

For me sonic adventure was a system seller for the dreamcast and sonic adventure 2 I actually got sonic adventure and resident evil code veronica as my first two badass titles.
As for gamecube I can think of exclusive titles that were system sellers not really ports.
I know that the gamecube version had more to offer in the sense of graphic update and mini games and such. I believe they even had unlockable game gear game's which was sweet. But I way prefer the dreamcast original cause for me That game was a true showcase and product of that machine and I have always preferred playing game's on the original system they came out on
I used to feel like this when I first got the game I just wanted the sonic levels but then I got older and now I love every level in it and find tails levels fun
I don't think this game needs an HD port. They should remaster it (think Sonic CD). There are a lot of annoying issues in this game that if fixed, would make the game much more enjoyable to play imo.

It has the exact same major problem that SA1 has, though, in that the game takes a nosedive in any stage where you're not playing as Sonic/Shadow.

Hey now, Eggman's stages were pretty fun!
