Yep, great movie.Luke wrote:I'll jump on the ENEMY MINE bandwagon as well. It looks a bit dated these days, but the message still hits home.

Just got out of Taken 2. I totally agree with Luke that they want this to be a series. And I was thinking about it, and I think I know why this feels like a weaker entry than the first one. The scope of the movie is much smaller. I don't think they could have made it bigger without making the whole thing feel artificially inflated, though.

What blows is that TAKEN was so good and actually fun (given the subject matter that is). TAKEN 2 isn't well directed and the action is sloppy and shaky. Again, it isn't a bad movie, it's just going in a different direction.MrPopo wrote:Just got out of Taken 2. I totally agree with Luke that they want this to be a series. Watched Marvel's The Avengers with my parents last night. The detail on Blu-Ray is ah-may-zun. Twenty minutes in my Father sarcastically said, "You know what this movie needs? More action".
The Thor punch and ragdolling scene got a HUGE laugh out of both of my parents, which isn't usual. As my Father came down for coffee this morning he said "Let's watch the Avengers again". He was joking, but he said both he and Mom want to pick up the movie as they really enjoyed it. Only complaint, "That's a lot of movie" referring to the running time.
Tonight RAID THE REDEMPTION again. Maybe my favorite movie of the year.
