Seems appropriate to me. If you bought that big, honkin' accessory to play that game, seems like you'd fall in the "hardcore" category.

As far as Capcom, I fall in line with Mozgus as they are my favorite developer (although I don't like Megaman). I didn't realize it and probably never would have except I listed my collection on IGN and they tallied up my games to determine some stats, including favorite developer.

I have all 4 DMC's.

The first one I completed was 4 on the 360, I liked it, I liked it a lot. I then played through 3 with my cousin, prefered the 4th.

Played the 1st one.

Can I get by the first boss, the tarantula guy? Can I flippidy do dah My cousin and myself have spent about 2 hours trying to kill that damn spider and we can't

We completed the 3rd and 4th games with ease yet can't get by the first boss in the first game! I know its laughable but the spider is rock solid

If you're talking about the spider boss, it has like 3 or 4 encounters with you. The one where it chases you down a hallway might be what you're referring to, in which case it's VERY hard to kill him before he pins you in the hallway. Most people just run away at that point and take the doorway near the end. You can kill him if you've spent a lot of time grinding up first, and just blast the fuck out of him with everything possible.

Yes the spider boss and the very first encounter with him.

Where you go outside run across the bridge, fall down underwater, fight the skulls then get teleported back up with the lion crest or something then fight the fire spitting spider after he says I sensed something bigger etc.

Once I got close, his bar was right down and 1 more hit would have done him, but he got me. Not played it since.

Like I said we got through DMC 3 and 4 with ease and all manner of other games easily.

Odd. Compared to the battles in the later games, the spider boss is pretty simple. It's nothing more than a matter of side rolling the lava geysers.

I was wondering if anyone else had this problem. I can't get by the encounter in the church. (the final one?) Sometimes i do a good amount of damage on him and sometimes he just flat out murders me. I wanted to play all of DMC and remembered my roommate playing it 7 years ago and enjoying it so i bought that full box of the first 3. Only played up to the church in the first game because i don't want to move on to the second until the first got played through.

Maybe i should pick it up again.

yep in the church thingy.

I have even watched a youtube video on beating it but can't replicate the results.

I'll give it a go again later.

Mozgus DMC4 was the first of the series I actually sat down and played properly and I flew through it, was quite good. I have to say I much prefered Nero to Dante.

ok another 10 tries and I have come to the conclusion that there is no game after this boss, videos of the game beyond, and others recollections of beating it are capcoms fabrications

There is no way I or anyone I know will ever get by this boss.

The best can do is get him down to about 10% health left.

I have never encountered a boss as hard as this in any game ever and I have been gaming for over 20 years now

....Why didn't I have any trouble with it? For some reason I beat it on my 2nd attempt. I had WAY more trouble with that demon hound soon after it and thats technically just a mini boss.
