Updated list:

Dust: An Elysian Tail
Lollipop Chainsaw
Mark of the Ninja

Journey - New!

I don't have The Simpsons Arcade on there because it's not really a new game, just a PSN/Xbox 360 re-release. With the exception of Lollipop Chainsaw, my favorite titles this year have been digital download games. The digital download space is pretty amazing right now. Journey is amazing enough to compete with any full retail title

Yeah, Dragon's Dogma was the only game actually released in 2012 that I played this year.

Luckily, I found it to be quite fantastic.

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy, hands down. Simply a fun game to play and continues the trend of great FF spin-offs.

Contenders include Growlanser: Wayfarer of Time, Gungnir, The Last Story, Tales of Graces F, Tales of the Abyss (3DS port), Hyperdimension Neptunia MK2, and Xenoblade Chronicles.

Too early to judge Code of Princess or Ragnarok Odyssey, as they're released later this month.

Worst game that I actually purchased: Final Fantasy XIII-2. Just worthless.

2013 looks promising too.

I've actually enjoyed a lot of games this year. Granted, I'm one of those people who loves games so much I enjoy all most every single one I play, but here are my absolute favorites of 2012:

Dragon's Dogma (WAY better than Skyrim!)
Prototype 2
The Amazing Spiderman
Mario Tennis Open

Umm... King of Fighters XIII, because it's actually the only game from 2012 that I've played.

Edit: Oh shit XIII came out last year.

So yeah, I haven't played any of the games that released this year.

I agree with the people saying 2012 has been kind of lackluster. Not that I buy many retail games at launch, but hopefully the holiday season will pick up with stuff like Assassin's Creed 3.

I think I've only bought like two retail releases that actually came out this year... my GOTY is probably Resident Evil: Revelations, and it was only like $15 used.
