I sold A beat-up n64 with sports games, a genesis, an xbox, a couple psp games, a Japanese neo-geo CD and games, and a game gear with TONS of games (I think it was around 120), for $560 store credit at The Exchange. Even with the quantity and quality of the game gear games I traded in (Axe battler, junction, lemmings, fantasy zone, etc.) I still think I got a good deal as far as thats concerned.
This is just a wild guess, but you'd probably have to pay more than that just to buy back all those game gear games you lost. Sure you can find games like Sonic 2 loose for 1 or 2 dollars, but when you count in all the uncommon/rare ones, you'll easily go over the 4.6 dollar average, espescially with postage. A Neo Geo CD itself is already quite pricy.

, a wii u and most good games for it.
Wrong. Selling all those retro games just to buy a brand new console with no good games on it? That's stupid as hell.
If you dont want to collect huge quantities of stuff, I suggest you focus on the quality. Buy games like Earthbound and such that are valuable, it's quite likely that the value will rise over time.
