Walk into a game store, $560 in pocket. What do you buy?

Anything that is gaming related that doesn't fit well anywhere else

Just sayin'
This is 2012. The newer screens are pretty awesome...

And beamers too...

And pretty soon OLED TVs...

CRT is good for gun support. But even then, some consoles like PS2 have Plasma / LCD compatible guns.

Just wish there was one for Dreamcast... :|

Exactly. I say that as somebody who owns the "ultimate" CRT TV (Sony 34XBR960). The high end plasmas are just amazing at this point. With my Onkyo AV processor, there's really no reason for me to have a CRT TV anymore.

I'm just asking what you would do if you were in my situation.
Well in that case, I would just burn it over time. I'd probably hit the store once a week to see what they have in, and get PS1, PS2, and Dreamcast games that I don't have/want.

Forgot to post this; as many dreamcast games as possible and Saturn games. I would try for a complete (almost complete atleast, not white label promo stuff or super expensive games)

He asked what I would do in his situation, and that's what I'd do.

BlackDS wrote:I traded in a few of my older systems at a local game store the other day. I sold A beat-up n64 with sports games, a genesis, an xbox, a couple psp games, a Japanese neo-geo CD and games, and a game gear with TONS of games (I think it was around 120), for $560 store credit at The Exchange. Even with the quantity and quality of the game gear games I traded in (Axe battler, junction, lemmings, fantasy zone, etc.) I still think I got a good deal as far as thats concerned.
This is just a wild guess, but you'd probably have to pay more than that just to buy back all those game gear games you lost. Sure you can find games like Sonic 2 loose for 1 or 2 dollars, but when you count in all the uncommon/rare ones, you'll easily go over the 4.6 dollar average, espescially with postage. A Neo Geo CD itself is already quite pricy.

Correct
, a wii u and most good games for it.
Wrong. Selling all those retro games just to buy a brand new console with no good games on it? That's stupid as hell.

If you dont want to collect huge quantities of stuff, I suggest you focus on the quality. Buy games like Earthbound and such that are valuable, it's quite likely that the value will rise over time.

Also looking to buy: Ys III (TG-16 CD), Shadowrun (Genesis) Hori N64 mini pad and Slayer (3DO) in long box/just the long box

Beat yourself up for asking this community for help on what to do with your money when you didn't give back at all by giving us a chance at your great stuff. I'm sure plenty of members here would have loved your Neo CD or Game Gear stuff. That's BS about losing money on shipping, since the buyer pays shipping.
