I don't think i'm too familiar with the NES's issues in europe. I take it a huge chunk of games simply didn't come out there?

Basically between running slow or being censored, or what have you, almost all the well known titles are unplayable in one way or another.

This I can vouch for. As a Euro-American that spent a lot of time in Europe and America growing up, knowing how normal/good/etc 60Hz NTSC gaming was, and then being tortured with PAL conversions, black borders, games seemingly coming out years later or never, spending around a quarter of each year in Europe was not fun for the gamer in me.
