JP, let me break this down for you real quick....

I was in your same shoes about 2 years ago.... I busted my butt for months trying to figure out the best CRT TV for my retro video games... so, allow me to save you months of research by taking my advice.

I own 2 gigantic Sony 36" CRT TV's now....

1 is the KV-36XBR200 for SD gaming (NES, SNES, GEN, N64, etc). You want SD for those old games, which is 480i.

The 2nd one is a KV-36HS500 for ED gaming (Enhanced Definition/Progressive scan)... these are systems like Gamecube, Wii, PS2, Xbox, etc). These systems use 480P, and will look best on a Hi-Scan model TV. I have never tried a Super Fine Pitch screen, but i would imagine 480p games would like great on it.

ALSO, these Hi-scan and especially the SFP screens, will also look great for the newer gen systems, (xbox 360, PS3).

Here's a nice list of all the Wega's CRT TV's Sony ever released.

Good luck on the hunt my friend!

If anyone can help with the specifics of the CRT TV and which way to go that would be great.
No problem. You won't have to worry about finding ntsc n64, that's for sure! Over 1000 units on US ebay alone. Not even counting other sites or countries. Let alone offline.
Lum fan.

Try your older consoles on your HD CRT, you might be surprised. The only reason to keep the CRT SD is for Retro Lightgun capability. I run ALL my consoles listed in my signature on my HD WEGA CRT, everything looks just beautiful. One 200 pound monsterous TV in the room is enough for me.

Doesn't have component input though (or does SCART handle component?). I do plan to buy an NTSC N64 and modify it at a later date, so ideally the tv should be able to handle NTSC.

If I bought this monitor:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/120973907573

Would it be able to display the NTSC signal / input of a modded (RGB) NTSC N64 here:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261091749953

Or can that monitor not display NTSC?

What kind of cable would I need?
