Absolutely yes. :) The only difference is the colour and writing on the console.
I mean you could work a US CD unit off of the PC Engine briefcase setup, and a Japanese CD unit with the US docking unit on a TG16?
Yuppers!

I'm also interested in buying. Turnbigrafix16 but I live in the US and I'm not interested in imports. I'm interested in multiple consoles ao I shall post a thread on it but help would be appreciated.

I recommend reading through THIS entire thread before posting your own redundant thread. If you still have questions, just add to this thread.

It doesn't matter if you live in the US... Japanese Turbografx (PC Engine) games are much, Much, MUCH easier to find and much, Much, MUCH cheaper in the long run.

Also, try to take the time to spell check things, at least the proper names of consoles and games, before you post. It's very hard to care about helping you when you don't bother to put the time in to even spell things properly. This is not the first time you've been told this.

Autocorrect dissaproves of tg16. As for genesis I just typo'd that and do that when I type fast.

That's great!

Reason I asked is that my PC Engine Duo is starting to show symptoms of capacitor failure, my Japanese CD drive is having laser issues, and the US docking unit seems somewhat faulty. :( Yeah that's pretty bad luck all in the space of a couple months.

So before I can get all those fixed up - it's great to know that I can still get in some Turbo CD gaming with my still fully functional black US CD unit. (which, by the way, sounds like a mini dreamcast since it's had a faulty gear replaced. )

I'm assuming you are able to, or know where to, fix these issues?

Not myself doing the fixing, no.
But there is a guy not too far from where I stay that I usually take my electronics stuff to.
He can change capacitors, align lasers, do major/minor repairs etc, and is generally known as a "Mr fixit" in the Florida Hills area.

Sweet! My CD-ROM2 has had both a replaced gear and a replaced CD drive, but it works great. MY PCE in the IFU is region modded, so it's a pretty nice set up that plays everything other than Super Grafx games.

Yeah, the US TurboGrafx is tres expensive. Still, as soon as I have a gap in job applications and business in my life I do fully intend to retool the bargains/price guide for the TG-16

Um, granted I don't own a CD attachment as I have a Duo for my CD games, buuuuuut I think someone slipped you some crack sir. :P PCE on top, TG on bottom. The CD systems are not going to fit in the other region's plug without modification.

Unless you mean just the actual CD player part, not the whole shebang including the interface plug that connects to the actual console. I think that might be a source of confusion here.
