People in my town are always stereotyped with Chester county. Sure, there's your normal druggies and drunkies, and there was some burglaries going around about a year ago, and the ghetto gangs are everywhere if you go there, but I can only think of one real incident of anything bad happening around here. It's the people in Chester county that are the real violent ones. Thankfully, they live far enough away from me that it doesn't really matter.

Re: Is it dangerous where you live?
I have regularly gone into some of the worst areas of Chicago during sports shoots. The area I live in is totally fine, but often times I would find myself given poor directions and having to deal with shady circumstances. Multiple people seem to get shot and die every weekend in the city. Despite this, very rarely have I truly felt in danger, or had trouble come to me for no real reason. I have, however, had issues with getting paid for work (I have worked a 40 hour without ever being paid and a company dropping off the face of the Earth when I was younger - now I'm weary of any company which uses a P.O. Box.)

Are you talking about the Chester county where the CKY movies (Bam Margera before the Jackass) were filmed? It looks like a wealthy suburban area in the moviesTheBrick wrote:People in my town are always stereotyped with Chester county. Well son of a bitch:

I live in Olde Westhaven, same area. Cedarhurst is on the main road of our neighborhood, so two break ins in such a short time span is concerning. Who these thugs are targeting hasn't been made clear. How they are breaking in hasn't been made clear.
Every house has a window right? So I am a bit concerned. My sidearm Betty will be sleeping next to my bedside table. For these guys to be breaking in knowing people are home and going in guns blazing shows they aren't rational.
Well, my electricity bill will be going up with my outside lights on all night, small price to pay. And so much for our community watch efforts. Ugh.
Security lights: check. Security system: check. Am I ready to kill on sight? check. Pitbull dog with attack commands: check.
Still. this won't stop two assholes from breaking into my place anyway.

Re: Is it dangerous where you live?
The comments on the news page are so disappointing, so racist.
I have a plan should someone try to break in. If we're alerted of the break in before they reach the second floor, my wife runs to the third floor. I have four closets/storage units on the third floor, one hidden that leads to the first floor storage space via ladder. My wife could easily escape and call for help.
I have a sidearm that I would rather not use, but have two non lethal weapons as well. I'd rather teach these guys a lesson, not kill them. First, two warning "shots" from two m-80s. I can make an ammonia bomb in thirty seconds that will set their eyes and lungs on fire.
I'd rather not take a life, but if these thugs try to put their hands on my video games, my dog, or my wife (not in that order of course) I'm shooting to kill and injure.

I live in one of the funkier parts of Seattle.
I think it's pretty safe... but all you would need to do is drive 1 mile south around 2am on a weeknight and you had better hope your car doesn't break down!
