Played some Dragon Spirit: The New Legend and Stinger (both on NES) last night. Neither game seems particularly hard, I died eventually just by making stupid careless mistakes. I'm going to try to complete both games fairly soon.

Pretty solid NES choices there. I love me some Dragon Spirit because it's a game you can't be falling asleep on (but the arcade original is far more difficult)

Batsugun! As far as I know that's Toaplan's *final* shmup before they broke into other development outfits such as Raizing and Cave. It's also considered the first bullet hell game. Have fun with that.

anyone else put on headphones and listen to other music when they play shmups? i pop on pandora.com and tune it to drum and bass, quite a transcendent experience. right now im playing gigawing 2 and listening to Feint.
