Bullet hell is where enemies throw out very dense waves of bullets in tight patterns and your ship has a very small hitbox and the point is to learn the patterns and do very precise, careful dodging and memorize the massive bullet spreads.
I do not like bullet hell shooters...

That's because ZG2 was built for a horizontal aspect ratio!!!!!Means that the graphics take up the entire screen rather than having two black bars like in Under Defeat.
Under Defeat was designed as a traditional vertical scrolling shooter! Turn your monitor in a vertical postion and enbale the games TATE mode to get a full picture and play it the way its meant to be played.

ZG2 needs to be played in VGA. It is one of the most beautiful games on the DC.
The control scheme sucks though, Under Defeat fixed the control scheme and the correct aspect ratio which ZG2 should have been too. But, the UD has a different graphical style and I like the graphical style of ZG2 better. Both are great games.

Well Busomjack, I'm glad you love ZG2. Its an excellent game.
If you have a tv you can turn on its side, you should try out those pre HD non full screen shmups in full screen, makes a world of difference.
1 hit kill is definitely not bullet hell though. DFK has an autobomb allowing you to get hit several times without dying, and it is very bullet hell.
ZG2 does start to feel bullet hell once you hit the loop though, since enemies release suicide bullets.
