It hasn't been that bad. I'll admit that the creativity has gone down in the past two generations, but there's still a lot of good games from the last generation and more coming down the pipe (I[m looking at you, Spore).Locke wrote:I'm surprised at how many next-gen fanboys there are here. Saying games were better isn't some nostalgia syndrome, it is common sense from people who actually played those games, both then and now. I understand how younger kids might not be able to get into games from other generations, but it is alarming at how fast so many 20-somethings forgot what a good game when new shiny games started getting dangled in front of them. There are a handful of gems from the last 12 years or so, but it is mostly just a big pile of trash.

I cut my teeth on a Colecovision at the age of four, and I have to say that I've probably enjoyed gaming more in the last two generations than I have my entire time with the hobby. There are just as many garbage games, if not more, on the 8-bit and 16-bit systems of old.Locke wrote:I'm surprised at how many next-gen fanboys there are here. Whether or not modern gaming appeals to you, it's silly to say that the quality has dropped over the years. That's "old man" syndrome for ya.
