When you were a kid, what did you think games would become?

Anything that is gaming related that doesn't fit well anywhere else

So then... who shot who? And how do we fix it?
Since this what brought up, this was a flaw in the movie that I've seen that I've tried to explain to people and they usually just get confused:

Obviously Back to the Future embraced the alternate reality theory. Doc Brown explains it in this exact scene that the pic above is showing when he says that Biff created an alternate timeline when he gave himself the Sports Almanac from the future, in the past. So now we have Doc Brown & Marty McFly's native reality, and the Biff is rich reality. So then Marty and Doc go back in time and fix things. Except for the fact that if the movie embraces the alternate reality theory, then they didn't fix anything, all they did is create yet another reality where they fixed things, meanwhile they're original reality and the Biff is rich reality is still out there in the multiverse existing.

Did I just confuse everyone here, too?
I challenge you to name a movie involving time travel that doesn't have plot holes like that.

Groundhog Day doesn't count.

Which is why it doesn't.

Groundhog Day has Bill Murray in it; therefore, it is automatically disqualified.

Groundhog's Day (and similar movie 11:59) don't deal with alternate realities, just self-contained loops. (See the "Groundhog's Day" episode of Stargate SG-1)

Also, I feel old. I was born at a time where I was totally floored at FMV games like Dragon's Lair and Sewer Shark. (A big reason why I was so impressed by the Tex Murphy series.)

I'm still waiting on the "Lawnmower Man" (aka "Matrix") scenario.
My scheduling skills have died of dysentery; I hope to visit at least on a monthly basis.
Still, don't forget to tip your waitress.

See also the TV series Daybreak with Taye Diggs, which is excellent.

oh dear god, don't get me started on the plot holes of Terminator.

Surprisingly, although full of holes itself, the best use of time travel I've seen in a long time is actually Bill & Ted's adventures movies.

and now.... thread sucessfully jacked.

to contribute to the thread though, I thought games would become like Dragon's Lair, but not QTE. You'd control the action fluidly. At least that is what I hoped. Cel-Shaded games do a pretty good job, but I still this as a viable thing in the future, with games like Rayman Origins and stuff coming out.

Terminator is like the grand mama of time-travel plot holes.
