That stuff is always an automatic turnoff, to the point I don't even consciously realize it sometimes. If a user's avatar is of a woman in a suggestive position, it generally means said user is either an immature teen or an adult who is still a immature teen inside.

Ironically, their overactive sex drives actually tend to drive women away. This site has a higher percentage of active female members than any other I've been a member of.

I agree. I very much appreciate the female members of this site, and I think that they add an interesting perspective on what is usually considered a male hobby.

What do you expect from a forum full of "nerds"? No, I'm not talking about misogyny itself, just the bolded part.
My WTB thread (Sega CD/Saturn games)
Also looking to buy: Ys III (TG-16 CD), Shadowrun (Genesis) Hori N64 mini pad and Slayer (3DO) in long box/just the long box

This forum is also full of nerds - myself included - and we do not consider the term an epithet. We are generally polite, and we respect women. Posters that use misogynistic avatars and make sexist posts are not nerds; they are boors.

You can be inexperienced and juvenile when it comes women&sex and even down right uninterested with out being a misogynist. Traditionally the "tereotypical nerd" has been a male who has no experience with women besides teachers, relatives, the online world and so on, and after playing and chatting with many 25+ and 30+ nerds for years, I concur with the notion. That doesnt mean that they all hate women. Some people want to be alone and some feel that it's easier to be alone than to try change themselves in order to find a girlfriend/wife.
When it comes to user avatars, I dont think that pictures of scantily glad women are necessarily the same thing as hating on women, that's absurd. Plenty of classical art is based around the "adoration of the female body", paintings and sculptures of naked woman and that sort of thing. I dont see how that is any different, maybe you can argue that they show a more refined taste or that the angle is less vulgar and demeaning and so on, but in my eyes it's essentially the same thing. There are same kind of pictures of half naked sweaty muscular males that are meant for women. I doubt they are forcing any of those models to pose like that.

By the way, I don't see why some men are so keen on telling every one how they "respect women". You mean to tell me that you respect 50% of the human population, all women, irrelevant of their behavior and personal achievements? Just because they are women? That seems very sexist to me.

I'm tempted to make an account at NA just to say,

"What games have you got?

PM sent!!!"

Each week, I will randomly choose one sealed game from my collection to sell. Only I will know which game I have selected. You can buy the mystery game though. If nobody buys it, then I will open it and break the seal, thus taking one more sealed game off the market. Pay me money or they all die.
YES! YES! YES!

DO IT!!!!!
