I love the social features but I am afraid Nintendo will implement badly again. No mention on friend codes going extinct so I am afraid they will still exist.
Also they said that you won't be able to access Miiverse from other devices till months after the Wii U's launch and I believe that is really a lot opportunity. I think they just release Miiverse on 3DS, PC and smartphones BEFORE the Wii U launch, to hype up the machine.

I'm pretty sure 3DS already dropped friend codes?ZeroAX wrote:I love the social features but I am afraid Nintendo will implement badly again. No mention on friend codes going extinct so I am afraid they will still exist.

They still have friend codes, but they span across all your games, so once you add a friend, you can play them at any game you both have without using another.AppleQueso wrote:I'm pretty sure 3DS already dropped friend codes?ZeroAX wrote:I love the social features but I am afraid Nintendo will implement badly again. Re: Nintendo: Project Cafe - Wii U
Not sure how relevant it would be, since it more or less seems like Nintendo is just making a Twitter/comment system with feeds bound to individual game titles and regions (and the ability to make video calls to random commenters no way that could ever get annoyingZeroAX wrote: Also they said that you won't be able to access Miiverse from other devices till months after the Wii U's launch and I believe that is really a lot opportunity. They could maybe reinstitute the NSider forums, or some other official forums, considering they don't even have those right now outside of a tech support board.

Guess I was wrong
...friend codes themselves are still kinda antiquated. I wonder why they won't just have an account based thing?

Though I could be wrong, I'm not sure how the Miiverse stuff would work without an account based system.AppleQueso wrote: ...friend codes themselves are still kinda antiquated. I wonder why they won't just have an account based thing?

I thought I heard a while back that the Wii U would be using actual accounts thanks to the Nintendo Network. The 3DS just unfortunately came out before Nintendo had this revelation.isiolia wrote:Though I could be wrong, I'm not sure how the Miiverse stuff would work without an account based system.AppleQueso wrote: ...friend codes themselves are still kinda antiquated.
