What NES game has the best graphics?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Kirby and SMB3 are great, and are probably best, but i would say that "Battletoads" is near the top, at least in my book. Man that game is awesome (and VERY hard)...

Metal Gear II was actually only released on the MSX, mobile phones and the PS2. Although I agree, the graphics are sublime.

Kirby's Adventure takes the punch for me, for the reasons that have already been listed but also the smooth animation and neat psuedo 3D effects (walking up spiral staircase towers etc.).

I haven't played it yet unfortunately but Castlevania III is another 1993 game which looks superb.

Another vote for Kirby's Adventure... just one of the most amazing games I have ever played (SNES graphics on the NES, who knew!?).

It's still Dragon's Lair.

The real Dragon's Lair game has endlessly better graphics, and for those who don't know has the distinction of being the first laserdisc game, being released in 1983. For anyone who hasn't since the arcade (real) version of dragon's lair, the graphics are nearly identical to the animation of a disney film, as several employees from disney helped develop the game. It also had very hi-fidelity sound. It was arguably the most graphically advanced game for 15+- years.
