A used SNES is gonna be pretty cheap. I can usually find them for about $20. So long as it is the SNES and not the cart, that's an easy fix.

got any pics of the glitchyness? it sounds to me like bad vram or one of the PPUs went tits up. it could also be a broken trace around the cart slot.
