Who even uses that stuff anymore?!" I couldn't help but mention that we also have a small VHS collection that still gets reasonable circulation, and that I myself still have a VCR at home. :P
My library's got all three formats too. We only just got Blu-Rays about a month or two ago, but we've finally made it.

What's funny is that the VHS tapes are checked out a lot more often than the Blu-Rays.

Im a very nostalgia person as well, i love to listen/watch old classic movies, songs, games etc.... of the by gone era of my childhood, but i always been able to manage that and work towards my career the whole time.

Ex: Even though i was a little bit older when teh Dreamcast came out, im currently playing through the Shenmue series again, because i love to get lost in the the Shenmue world and nostalgia memories of the past.

Its a delicate balancing act.

Yes! It's so true! Our library didn't anticipate that. I'm guessing the average Blu-Ray owner is more likely to buy their movies outright than rent them, since the internet seems to think the medium is doing well with consumers. But who knows. I don't have a concept of how well Blu-Rays are selling out there from first-hand or second-hand experience.

I though people think the 90s are cool. Retro seems to be more popular and mainstream than ever.

Or are you referring to crappy 90s action cartoons like Power Rangers? Because that was always lame.
Pretty much music and style, mostly. I certainly don't see the same styles and sounds I used to, and I've had plenty of kids tell me Metallica sucks (which continues to shock me to this day).

But Metallica does suck. Increasingly so. They have had many many more bad years/albums than they ever did good or mediocre ones.

That said, Master of Puppets is an excellent album.

Says you. St. Anger is the only bad Metallica album, as far as I'm concerned. And Master of Puppets is fantastic, but so is every album Metallica released in the 80s and 90s.

I think that music critics, genre fans, and general music listeners generally agree with my sentiment: Metallica has been a band of diminishing returns for going on two decades now. That said, I like a lot of stuff that gets panned or is under-appreciated, so I can certainly respect your dedication to a band and their music.

I guess my point was that I was shocked that you are shocked that kids tell you Metallica sucks. If I were 16 and just now looking back at Metallica's body of work, I would most likely find the suck to good ratio to be less than favorable.

As a younger Metallica fan. Yeah, that's about how I see it.

I'm not a huge fan of anything post Justice.

That said, I love a lot of 90s cars and styles (though not as much as the 70s). I haven't found a lot to like from then in regards to music with the exception of Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, and Pearl Jam though.

Well, those are some great picks if you're only gonna pick 3. No love for Megadeth, Pantera, Tool, or Smashing Pumpkins?
