Even though there won't be a price announcement at E3, I still think it'll be $299 and it's gonna be the first (well, without a radical price cut) system N will take a slight loss on hardware (if it's actually decently powered). If it's not $299, PS360 can drop their prices way too easy when the Wii U comes out to $250 or $200 and keep a price advantage.KDub wrote:There is no way the new system will be under $300. That controller has to be expensive and the system is suppose to over power the 360 and PS3 both which still average around $299.

Re: Nintendo: Project Cafe - Wii U
tablets are getting increasingly cheaper and, as tablets go, the WiiU's controller is pretty shoddy (it's not even multi-touch, iirc). Couple that with something approximating the hardware found in a $200 current gen console, and under $300 for a WiiU seems very feasible. $250 wouldn't shock me, given the relatively old/cheap hardware in the thing.KDub wrote:There is no way the new system will be under $300. Re: Nintendo: Project Cafe - Wii U
I could see the Wii-U at $250. It doesn't have an internal HDD either, does it?
Hope the Wii-U is easily hackable. I want to play imports.

I'd guess we'll see a $300 price tag, though $250 wouldn't shock me.
