Re: Satisfying ending
hahaha i think gamespot gave crono cross 10/10 , such a bad ending for a 10 game
Re: Satisfying ending
the last game I finished was Yakuza Dead Souls aka Yakuza of the End.
holy $#!+ was the ending in that game amazing!!
everything from the lead up to the final boss, to the final boss, to the ending sequences themselves.
it was seriously one of the best ending packages I have witnessed in a game in years!!
honestly if only more ppl were playing this game, it would be getting front page news on all the blogs instead of articles about other popular games' bad endings.

How does this work, exactly? Do you offer the tip at the start? Do you just hint at it by leaving a stack of bills out in plain sight?Luke wrote:Just generously tip your masseuse. Always works.

It's got a much better ending if you do the last boss properly.dunpeal2064 wrote:Chrono Cross

Re: Satisfying ending
I have always thought that Final Fantasy 6 & 8 were good endings. Devil may cry was fun, and the ending for Castlevania: Lords of Shadows was pretty awesome.

FTFY. Take your pick! =PJrecee wrote:#1
The problem is, shallow people don't go to movies to see the ending. They go to see the awesome action sequence leading up to the ending. Which in games. . . would be gameplay.

My conscious mind doesn't. You'll go completely on autopilot when you get there. Also, multiple attempts.Jrecee wrote:Holy crap you beat Dr. Robotnik's mean bean machine?

For something good this gen, I think the first Mass Effect had a very satisfying ending. It accomplished everything it set on the table mostly, but you knew there was more. In a way it just makes me think of Star Wars IV. Too bad both ME2 and ME3 had pretty poor endings in comparison though (yes, even ME2 to me. Wasn't nearly as rewarding as ME1's).
Deus Ex... I wouldn't say any of the games have ever had the best endings (in a way I think it fits well though, you can't magically save the world or anything), but wow HR reverting to "flip three different switches" was insanely underwhelming. I loved HR overall, but I guess I could argue the entire final stretch was pretty terrible... won't go into detail because of spoilers and crap.
