We don't need that around here.

No it's simple comparison. There were alot of games I never played as a kid, but went back and played in the last few years and thought, "Wow, this is really amazing." I have nothing against new games, there is some great stuff thats new, Okami is one of my favorites. But over all games have less ingenuity and the focus has been changed for online mulitplayer capabilities. It was more fun when you had to leave your house or invite friends over to have a multiplayer feature.Funk, E wrote:I'm of the mind that it's neither. yeah but I still prefer a game like army men or age of empires online against 1 to 7 others including myself over a swarm of people in mmorpgs or first person shooters but thats just a question of genre, I like some online capabilities but they should be limited for certain games or like the emulation stages of challenging someone to classic games from all across the world, so in other worlds like you said LAN games and Direct Connect with local friend will most likely be always be more fun than huge groups of strangers or people of vastly superior skills winning too much.ott0bot wrote:No it's simple comparison. also....I don't think he meant it to sound as bad as it did, but the title change was definately needed.
You're right about games like Age of Empires or Civilization. Becasue every game starts with everyone having a fair shot. I can't stand MMO's where you the guy with no job who lives in grandma's basement can spend 20 hours a day leveling up his character. I used to really enjoy dial up sessions of Doom back in the day, expect when someone was using 14.4 any their character kinda just skipped around the levels like some kinda ghost.manillaungol wrote:yeah but I still prefer a game like army men or age of empires online against 1 to 7 others including myself over a swarm of people in mmorpgs or first person shooters but thats just a question of genre, I like some online capabilities but they should be limited for certain games or like the emulation stages of challenging someone to classic games from all across the world, so in other worlds like you said LAN games and Direct Connect with local friend will most likely be always be more fun than huge groups of strangers or people of vastly superior skills winning too much.ott0bot wrote:No it's simple comparison.
