thumbs or index fingers?

On gamepads I use fingers. I'm not sure how you could just use thumbs. Maybe its because I mainly played Tekken, where you have to press several buttons at once.

Its gotta be thumbs for me. Sometimes I use my finger tips in games like Golden Axe, or something that requires lots of rapid tapping, but for some reason I can't play fighters like this.

I generally prefer using a stick though.
