I actually really liked MapleStory despite my typical aversion to MMORPGs.
There's also a MapleStory DS game, but I believe it was only released in Korean and Japanese.
Korean video games?

Magna Carta - Really really bad. At least the one people know of, the PS2 title.
Isn't Maple Story or what it's called from that country too?

If each mistake being made is a new one, then progress is being made.
Re: Korean video games?
Ragnarok Online is Korean, I completely forgot about that. (I have all the Ragnarok manga sitting on my shelf... The dude was actually a really talented artist before he focused completely on that ugly chibi style) I believe there was a DS version but I don't really know anything about it.

Re: Korean video games?
Isnt South Korea the promised land of free to play MMORPGs?
Maybe even MMORPGs in general. Lineage, Ragnarok Online and Maple Story are quite popular in EU and USA, but US Lineage servers were shut down last year if I am not mistaken. Although unless you want to dedicate 12+ hours a day to grinding and forget about playing any other game, those MMORPGs might be a bad choiche for you.
I find it intresting how American games (atleast the ones made by Blizzard
) do so well in South Korea when compared to Japan. There isnt a single country in the world with a widespred and publicly accepted e-Sports culture like South Korea has. I wonder what is behind that phenomenon?
As far as I know, there are a lot more American/Western influences in South Korea than there are in Japan in general, like the popularity of circumcision and christianity. From the outside the country does not seem that different from Japan, so I wonder what is their reason for being more open to outside/US influences than Japan? It also seems that Korean culture is easier to understand for an outsider. Japanese culture is really unique.

South Korea is one of the most ethnically homogeneous societies in the world, with more than 99% of inhabitants having Korean ethnicity.[126] Koreans call their society 단일민족국가, Dan-il minjok guk ga, "the single race society".
