Korean video games?
I know they must be out there, but I hardly ever hear about any. Anyone know of any good games made by Koreans? I really like their style, they've got kind of a dark bizarre sense of humor.

Well, there's the Magna Carta games, rpgs both.
I can't speak to their quality though. I've always meant to play them, but never have.

I've been wanting to watch that, but that's a movie, not a video game.sabrage wrote:Didn't I tell you to check out Oldboya month or two back?Don't watch the Netflix Watch Instantly dub, though.

The 2 games that come to mind instantly are the MMO genre bending games MapleStory (platformer+mmo) and PangYa (golf+mmo). I'm sure there are tons of others, but those two titles have almost convinced me to give them a try despite my forced aversion to MMORPG type swallow-your-life games.

Re: Korean video games?
I once saw at the fleamarket a Korean copy of Vandal Hearts for PC.
I didn't buy it tho.
I really dont have any need for PC games like that.
But the box was ripped too. I only noticed the back box artwork and instantly recognized the game.
I think I probably could have played it.

Pump it Up is a really good dance game that to me eclipsed DDR until the latter started to catch up in it's newests versions.
Looking for a cool game? Find it in my blog!

Re: Korean video games?
Korea has a large number of released games. Many are rare yet often not worth the effort to hunt down for just playing. Historically little to no actual game translation from English or Japanese was common. NTSC makes it easy, low risk.
IIRC complete boxed consoles in particular can be very tough finds today for westerners.
Mega Man X5/X6/X7/X8 have Korean editions on PC. At least the latter three official (simple as they are to pirate being PC). I can't quite confirm whether X5 is legit...
