hehe, you think this sucks? Try having a PAL system and having to wait like 6+ months for RPGs to get translated in 6 fucking languages while on the other side of the Atlantic you people are playing them already. Not to mention that important American games is much cheaper than buying European games (which is probably the biggest reason why the 3DS is region locked)

And don't forget that a LOT of them doesn't even make it here. It's like "ok, it didn't sell that good, let's not even bother with europe...".
If Spirit Camera doesn't get released here, I will do as OP, learn Japanese and just import everything.

I agree, having this system region locked is pretty lame. The only reason I can think of is that they anticipate having region locked DLC for some of the games and they don't want to have somebody trying to buy content from an incompatible region. However the PS3, PSP, and Vita are all region free and all support DLC and somehow this isn't a problem for Sony. Not sure what Nintendo's problem is but even if someone does come up with a workaround hack to play imports, Nintendo will just release a new firmware update and kill the workaround.
You could skip doing any system updates, but eventually they will probably make them mandatory or new games will not boot, plus you won't be able to access the store and buy anything or take advantage of any new features. The customer pretty much loses every way you look at it.

And not to mention, importing the games from Japan is literally twice as expensive as buying
them statewide. So even if you knew japanese, your wallet will have a hole burnt through it. Nintendo has successfully screwed us over, again. Thanks for the quality service.
Also, why does Europe get Beyond the Labyrinth?
The ultimate slap to the face will be when MegaMan LEgends 3 gets released as a Japanese exclusive.

Lately, Europe has been treated very well as you have been getting more exclusives than the US have for nintendo consoles AND you get games before us. You have ALL THREE Operation Rainfall games, Fatal frame 2 remake, Hotel Dusk Sequel, Trace Memory Sequel, Inazuma eleven(Though that is a bit more understandable) among many others. While Europeans have gotten screwed over multiple times in the past , especially in the 90s, they can't really complain nowadays especially if they are nintendo fans.

Yeah I guess we are better off. Is Inazuma Eleven that good? I saw them in a shop and hey if they series gave Izy his name, it's worth checking out. To get inside the mind of a crazy person

Izzy is not crazy, he is a harbinger of truth. Just because you can't handle the truth doesn't make him crazy.

Like all great philosophers, the greatness of his work will be appreciated after his death (which will probably come while he is on his co-op spy mission with Niode to blow up Sony headquarters)

I wish that I could easily access and purchase items from the Japanese PSN store. I would love to get Kings Field on my PSP, along with some of the many PSOne classics they have access to. It puts our store to absolute shame, and I can see no good reason for it. Even the Japanese PSOne titles they do sell here in the USA pale in comparison to all the many titles that they have on their store.
I know, I could mod my PSP, buti would rather just be able to buy them outright.
