Its like Nintendo KNEW that there would be some awesome games that probably won't come out in the US and don't want us to import them.... First Professor Layton vs Ace attorney, then THIS game, and now apparently there is even a new Taiko no tatsujin game.... You know what, I'm taking Japanese classes right now, I think I'm going to import a Japanese 3ds! And if they announce Ouendan 3 or a new Jump Superstars game within the next couple of months then I won't even have to think twice about it.
This is why I hate the fact that 3DS is region locked.

Damn, Layton vs Ace Attorney is not coming tot he 3DS? It was one of the few titles I was interested in! And the TNT comment also makes me a sad panda.
Bleh. They are forcing me to hack my 3DS.

Well as of right now I have not heard any sort of announcement that Layton vs Ace attorney it is coming to the U.S., but knowing how much devs have been trolling lately, I could easily see it be a Japan exclusive
Re: This is why I hate the fact that 3DS is region locked.
They get better colors and better exclusives. I will not be importing a 3DS, but I will import TnT on the Vita when it happens. Because it will happen. The Vita touch screen is perfect for TnT.

Well at least on a vita you CAN import games! That's why I will probably get a Vita before I get a 3DS.

Layton vs Ace Attorney? Some sort of SRPG with characters from various Japanese developers?
How many copies of these ultra-niche games would sell in North America? 1000 if you are lucky? It is any surprise that these aren't being published here?

I completely agree but here's the thing: YOU CANT EVEN IMPORT THEM! Unless you have a japanese system. Nintendo handhelds have always been region free except for now. I would have been more than willing to import those games if they worked on an American 3DS.Zing wrote:Layton vs Ace Attorney? Some sort of SRPG with characters from various Japanese developers?

Why wouldn't Project X Zone be localized? Sega, Namco, and Capcom all have a ton of experience with localization and they have been promoting the hell out of this game on the website. This game seems like a pretty big deal, and I'm definitely expecting it to come to the States.
Re: This is why I hate the fact that 3DS is region locked.
^I can't see it localized because it probably wouldn't do too well in the American market. Namco is known for not releasing certain RPGs in the US including Namco x Capcom(whichthis game appears to be a spiritual sequel to). Sega hasn't released some of their main hits like Nights Ps2, Gems collection Ps2, or more recently, Valkyria Chronicles 3. Capcom wont release Ace attorney investigations 2 or monster hunter portable 3. Not to mention, they will probably run into a couple licensing issues...

I'm still pretty hopeful that Layton X Ace Attorney will be coming out over here.
I remember Level 5 said something about wanting to localize it on their Facebook page. And then there was a poll asking "What do you want to see localized" and Layton vs. AA won.
So, I wouldn't exactly cross that game off the list just yet.
As for this however, I really hope we get this game although we did miss out on Namco X Capcom which is disheartening. Who knows, maybe we'll get lucky and get this. I think part of the reason we didn't get Namco X Capcom was because of licensing issues. That might not be the case here.
