I wanted to share my good luck in finding two game systems at a local flea market down the road from my house. This guy had a booth selling used furniture, electronics and appliances, and he had a silver Nintendo Game Boy Pocket for $5 that came with one game. I bought that, and then the next week, at the same booth, found a Sega Game Gear for $10 that came with two games. Both systems were in excellent working condition, but have significant scuffs and scratches. I'm very lucky, considering a Game Boy Pocket and Game Gear cost much more on websites such as Amazon.com and eBay.
Systems owned:
PSone, PS2, Xbox, Sega Genesis, Sega Saturn, Nintendo Game Boy Pocket, Sega Game Gear, NES, Atari 2600, 3DO and Atari Lynx.

Lots of Dreamcast games and stuff over the past couple of days.
An awesome score at my local Goodwill, complete and $2.02 each:
Jet Grind Radio
Sonic Adventure 2
And from craigslist, for $50 I got:
2 1st party controllers
2 1st party vmu
1 rumble pack (Mad Catz)
plus these games (complete marked with an *):
Sonic Adventure *
Sonic Shuffle
Soul Caliber
Jet Grind Radio *
Crazy Taxi (x2)
Crazy Taxi 2 *
Blue Stinger
Space Channel 5
Ms. Pacman Maze Madness *
Ultimate Fighting Championship
Hoyle Casino *
Sega Marine Fishing
Atari Anniversary Edition *
Toy Story 2 (x2)
Surf Rocket Racers *
NBA 2K2
NHL 2K2
Virtua Tennis
Tennis 2K2
World Series Baseball 2K2
NFL 2K2 *
Some of the games have manuals and/or the bottom half of the case. Most importantly, all of them work! I had a few of the titles already so I will try to sell or trade those.
Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase. Nothing rare or anything but a lot of games I've been on the lookout for. What do you think?

At a garage sale the other day I bought a green N64 for $30 with a matching controller and an extra gray controller. As far as I can tell, the thing has never been played.

Today's haul from a couple of different thrift stores:
Section Z (NES) $1.00
Blaster Master (NES) $1.00
Pilotwings (SNES) CIB $5.00
And from craigslist, for $20:
4 Genesis controllers
20 Genesis games (carts only), all sports except Ms. Pacman, Animaniacs, and Sonic the Hedgehog
I kinda had second thoughts about this deal because my kids aren't that into sports games... yet. We also already had four of the titles but I'll sell them as a lot on ebay with the extra model 2 I was going to list anyway. I can probably recoup most of the $20 by selling the controllers too. I just couldn't resist!

Man i though i was bad! You're a madman!

I'm proud to say even my wife is in on the fun. She was at Goodwill yesterday and saw a worker carry out some consoles from the back. She followed him up to the front counter where they display the video game stuff and pounced on a complete Dreamcast (all cords, 2 first party controllers including a nifty see-through blue one, 1 vmu) for $9.09. The cashier told the guy, who was new, that they usually go for twenty bucks but he said he was just following someone else's orders. Cha-ching! It would have totally been worth it for a twenty spot. Everything is in pristine condition, truly "like new."
We already have a pair of Dreamcasts so I'll trade out the blue controller, package one of the three up with my doubles games from the other day, and try to make a few bucks on ebay.
I've sold a lot of things lately with the goal being to offset the cost of the stuff that goes into our personal collection. While we haven't broken even or anything, it's been working out pretty well. Lots of really cheap retro games and consoles for us!
Anyone else score any good deals lately?
