Definitely Hexen. Awesome game; spent hours upon hours with it. I actually completed it with no cheats. That was a bitch.

Plus the N64 version with 4-person multiplayer? Great.

Favorite Clone (direct predessor?): Ken's Labyrinth! The music is probably what does it, or the nostalgia 'cause I'm pretty sure it sucks otherwise. Still I play it all-too-much.
Same engine I like Heretic and hate Hexen, and Strife.
Ports to the same console (PC) I continually try to make the Dengine with all the best Snowberry mods to play off a thumbdrive stabily with the best packages up to date - I'm pretty close, but some mods are touchy about directory structure or filenamews or something.

Dark Forces for me, though I also have a soft spot for both Ken's Labyrinth and Heretic. I have played a lot of Duke Nukem 3D and its N64 port, along with 4-player Hexen, but those above are the ones that really stood out for me, especially Dark Forces. I was a huge Star Wars geek in middle school.

Then Episode 1 came out.

Hey TEK, I admit I haven't been around much, but hopefully that will change in the near future.

As for Hexen, the N64 version is great for its 4-way multiplayer. It makes for an incredible multiplayer experience. The Saturn port has the best audio of any version though...what are you playing it for? If for a tight single player experience, I say PC or Saturn, but if you want to have a few drinks and relax while battling demons and each other on splitscreen, N64 is the way to be.

Thanks,Im gonna grab the Saturn version!
The last multiplayer session I tried to get some buddys into was Champions of Norath, they loved it but after a few weeks of hiatus they went back to their Cod's.

You may be proud to know,Im losing sleep over filling in the 3DO guides here on the site.Although may take a month or so,due to the obscurity that needs to be filled.Im pumped none the less since it would be a valuable asset for the readers.

Amoungst many here you are a favorite member of mine, you represent a true gamer..The No Bad Games article in YSG,need I say more.Just like you through out my gaming existence,Ive made it through many game that others would dismiss only to find that one little niche that makes a game memorible & enjoyable no matter how bad.Its so intresting in that way, instead of the cookie cutter stuff we always read or hear about everywhere.

So Thank You for your inputs,I enjoy the knowlegde you posses. :D

It's more a Wolf3D clone, especially considering it uses the Wolf3D engine

Just saying

I actually own Blake Stone, and it's basically Wolf3D with aliens instead of Nazis. It's got some neat tweaks though, like being able to visit previous levels again.

Duke Nukem 3D is by far my favorite Doom clone. The incredible cheesiness of it all, the gore, the cool weapons, and the secret areas make it quite an excellent games.

Thanks very much for the kind words. I look forward to those 3DO articles, as mine is sadly collecting dust right now. I am continuing to shape my opinions on the evolution and history of video games, as well as the fine art of collecting them. Racket also has me revamping some older articles that needed a touchup. And once I am fully moved, I will have more time(and better Internet service) to devote to further work. I have been looking at FPS a lot the last few years. Perhaps I should finally capitalize on that.

Anyway, I am glad to help you reach a decision! Enjoy your new game!

Okay so this confirms it,it was Stark who bought all my Saturn games!
I always get you confused with Flake sometimes.
