noise is right there is an Import Loader, but only for DVD movies. Sorry for the mixup, I was thinking about the Freeloader built into the Gamecube version. However there is Swap Magic or HDAdvance/HDLoader to circumvent the region locks of import games.noiseredux wrote:It has an import dvd movie loader... In addition to the cheat codes, it has an Import loader and memory card transfer to and fro a USB memory stick.
On the plus, the PS2 Action Replay Max includes a Genesis emulator in the disc called PGen. I can't remember where I got my Genesis EMU for the PS2 but the newer versions can be installed and load game roms right from the PS2 hard drive.
This is true, I like the parallel port for the instant load of cheat carts. All the carts and discs I own need either a Spring for the PS1 or Tab for the PSOne to keep the door switch closed. The eject tray detection in the PS2 needs to be bypassed with a Flip Top or slide tool.BurningDoom wrote:I don't know about the Action Replay particularly. But the GameShark for PS1 can't run on the PS2 because the PS1 Gameshark uses the Playstation's I/O port, which the PS2 doesn't have.ElkinFencer10 wrote:Will a PS1 AR work for my PS1 games if I'm using a PS2 to run them? Or will I need to buy a PS1?
I tested a disc based version of Gameshark on the PS2. It requires the proprietary Gameshark Memory card plugged in as a boot key. No luck on the PS2, the memory card could not be detected in either memory port.
A quick check of Amazon shows a couple reviews that confirm the PS1 Action Replay works in a PS2.

All my memory cards have the Action Replay Update. The file is so critical I even keep a couple of dedicated Magic gate Memory cards for it. If anyone needs the PS2 AR Max Update, post a request in this Thread. I can transfer direct to you memory card or convert the AR Update save file to USB. I think I can upload the converted update right in the Threads as an attachment, Action Replay MAX will be needed to dump it back to a PS2 Memory card.
I'm nuts, I have three copies of PS2 Action Replay along with two copies of the PC Media Manager. I forgot all about the Euro Max play games, I'll need to do the conversion on it.
