PS1/PS2 Gameshark/Action Replay
I'm wanting to get a Gameshark or Action Replay (depending on which one you guys think is better) for my PS1 and PS2 games, but I have a few questions that I'm hoping I can get answered here.
I only have a PS2 Slim (not an actual PS1), so will a PS1 Gameshark/AR work with that?
Can I use a PS2 Gameshark/AR for PS1 games?
Which is better, Gameshark or Action Replay?
Thanks guys.

You will need a separate Gameshark or Action Replay for the PS1 and PS2. PS2 Action Replay MAX is pretty good. In addition to the cheat codes, it has an Import loader and memory card transfer to and fro a USB memory stick.

Will a PS1 AR work for my PS1 games if I'm using a PS2 to run them? Or will I need to buy a PS1?

I run my PS1 games in a PS1 so not sure if the PS1 AR would bypass the eject detection of the PS2. You'll save wear and tear on the PS2 by running the CD based PS1 games in a PS1 anyways.ElkinFencer10 wrote:Will a PS1 AR work for my PS1 games if I'm using a PS2 to run them? I don't know about the Action Replay particularly. But the GameShark for PS1 can't run on the PS2 because the PS1 Gameshark uses the Playstation's I/O port, which the PS2 doesn't have.ElkinFencer10 wrote:Will a PS1 AR work for my PS1 games if I'm using a PS2 to run them? If anyone could tell me if a PS1 AR will run on a PS2, I'd appreciate it.

Can anyone tell me if a PS1 AR will work on a PS2? Should I try to find a cheap PS1?

If you can see the future while remembering the past, you may just have control of the present.
