Final Fantasy Tactics A2 (DS)

Post by Ivo »

I was hoping it would come out great, but it seems it keeps the Law system (with some changes) and still uses that "learn skills from equipment" gimmick of the first. I'll probably still like it, when I eventually play it (maybe in some years time). Plus, apparently the touch screen controls weren't implemented that well, which is a shame.

I wish they did Tactics Ogre DS instead of FFT DS... That series has no BS Law systems or learning from items and is still deep.

I wish the FFT A for GBA and DS were not so kid-like. I would rather them be more like the original one that does not involve children at school or the law system.

Thanks Ivo, I was on the fence about buying it but have not investigate the title enough yet. Law system means no go for me. I mean it was clever the first couple go arounds but it got old.

It's probably still a decent game, but not a great one as it could / should have been.

I was unsure about this one as well. Thanks for the heads up.

My brother and I picked up War of the Lions for half price a few days ago and hes been playing it obsessively ever since. I'd rather play the original again then FFT A2 anyways. It frustrates me what S-E have down with the GBA and DS iterations. Lack of narrative, good but not out of this world sound (I own the PSone OST and it is simply divine) and just a flood of "busy work" missions with no drive.
