Crimson Dragon (Panzer Dragoon Successor) Unveiled
Re: Crimson Dragon (Panzer Dragoon Successor) Unveiled
I've tried Kinect, and I absolutely loathe it.

What shall I call myself, then? There are no classic genres (aside from maybe Move light gun games) that control better with Move or Kinect than they would with a controller.ATARI800XLfan wrote:I'm just astounded by gamers these days. What a well reasoned and supported argument. Why can't we have more gamers like you?I'm excited this type of game is being made in this day and age where 90%* of people only play FPS *, not just you guys but most gamers online. Like people on youtube.
Fuck that. They are taking a beloved franchise that is in large part lauded for how it controls, and substituting that with arm flailing, hopping, etc. It will be the same thing with Kinect Steel Battalion, too. I'm agitated because these are great niche franchises which are miraculously getting a new entry - but ones that (as far as we know so far) will necessarily be stripped of the core gameplay that made them great because of the platform they are being made for.Come on guys give it a chance. The kinect can be powerful when in the right hands.

I hope they end up including Kinect AND controller support. That makes everyone happy.

can't tell if you were being serious about the well reasoned and supported argument part. As for the control medium I prefer to think gamers what until it comes out before judging a game, you never know this might be the one game done right with Kinect, actually controlling a Dragon as if you are riding it sounds interesting to me.dsheinem wrote:What shall I call myself, then? There's little to no reason that it should require Kinect, whether or not it's done effectively, which I think was the point. The market has already had at least one dragon-riding game flop because someone thought mandatory motion controls were a good idea. If you want a "control a dragon like you were riding it" game, there it is (well, they eventually patched in regular controls, but too late to keep the game out of the bargain bin).ATARI800XLfan wrote:As for the control medium I prefer to think gamers what until it comes out before judging a game, you never know this might be the one game done right with Kinect, actually controlling a Dragon as if you are riding it sounds interesting to me.

Lair was pretty okay after the analog stick update. Not great, but okay.isiolia wrote:There's little to no reason that it should require Kinect, whether or not it's done effectively, which I think was the point. I'm with you guys. Its a controller or no go for me. I don't have 8 open feet in my bedroom, it just won't work.
Lair intersts me though. PS3 pickup when I get one. Bargain bin games... ah, the awesomeness.

I completely forgot that you need like 6+ feet of room for Kinect. Now I definitely won't be getting it if it stays Kinect-only; I just don't have that kind of space.Forlorn Drifter wrote:I'm with you guys. Its a controller or no go for me. The fact that it's a Kinect game is a huge turn off for me. I just do not like motion controls in games. They don't appeal to me whatsoever. I'd have been happy if we just got HD remakes of all the Panzer Dragoon games rather than this.
