I actually think it's funny how conveniently zombies pop up. Driving along, nothing on road, look at map for a sec, back to the road and zombie has magically appeared to conveniently cause cliff hanger ending to episode!

Amazing too how often they silently creep up on people. Stealthy bastards!

My wife and I were talking about that during the episode. They sneak up on people ever so silently and once they are noticed they all start grunting/moaning. Those are some wonderful hunting instincts for the brainless dead.

I just read the entire comic series over the weekend (threw my back out, had to do something). It's amazing that in the show they've spent 16 episodes on the farm, even though it was a grand total of 10 pages in the comic. If that ratio keeps up, if they ever get to the prison they are going to be there for 27 seasons. Not that I would mind since interesting stuff actually happens at the prison. The farm is little more than The Waltons with Zombies, and a little more melodrama.

Seriously, after reading the comics I can honestly say I hate the producers of this TV show. Not only have they made an incredibly slow moving, uninteresting show, they have destroyed a great property and kept it from someone who might have actually done something worthwhile with it.

Theyve spent 7 episodes on the farm. Only 14 episodes have aired. Things seem to be moving along now though. It's been an up and down situation but im not in hate with the show like a lot of people seem to be. Still better than 99% of the crap on network tv.

I gave up on burn notice though. Is it even still on?

I kind of lost touch with that show. I used to be a fan. I think they are on another midseason break but I'm not sure. I think the problem with Burn Notice is that no matter what happens that show always goes back to status quo. It doesn't feel like anything really monumental ever happens

If you want another good spy show, watch Nikita on the CW. It's a reboot of the old La Femme Nikita show that ran on the USA network in the late nineties. It's a superb show currently in its second season. It's currently my favorite show on tv, at least when compared to the other stuff I watch. I'd even rank it over The Walking Dead. Only problem with Nikita is that it's become a very plot heavy show and there's a lot going on with a lot of characters. Unless you watch it from the beginning you're likely to get lost. Nikita has top notch martial arts sequences, great shoot outs, tons of awesome characters, plenty of drama, lots of eye candy and a complex plot where lots of stuff can happen in a single episode. Awesome, awesome, awesome show

@onemanfilmcrew, I think the comic's pacing just seemed faster to you because you had the luxury of reading the comic in one go, where you're only limited by how fast you can read through the issues. Whereas with the show, you're passively waiting for things to play out.

I followed the comic the normal way, meaning I had to wait for the next issue to come out as I go along, and personally, I find that things are happening much faster in the series. Which is just me, though. By this point, the series has already gone in different directions that it would be unfair to compare them side by side. We could complain that *SPOILERS* Shane should have been dead by now, but what if Shane wasn't really supposed to die in the show. etc.

Well, the producers did get rid of the previous showrunner. Glen Mazzara has taken over, and it has shown in the past two episodes. I think Darabont was too concerned about the establishment of characters, which didn't work to well as people still refer to certain characters as "ya know, that guy in the hat".

There is also the issue of Kirkman's lawsuit, which has led to his limited involvement with the show. Hopefully once that is cleared up things will progress a little more smoothly.

That statement burns me. Is there any other industry other than music and comics where creators get screwed over time and time again.

Back on track, I think if you look at the overall pacing in a big picture sense its moving just fine. Like a good movie you are drawn in with action at the beginning (first season) character development (first half of second season) and then more plot movement (current episodes). Even though it's not matching the comics, I feel it is still well done and a nice piece of modern cinema art.
