I'm not saying it's fault persay but rather, if something is getting so many 10's and lofty praise, I have to see what it is first-hand in order to gauge my own opinion. I've bought into hype before and I've found that with high expectations, I was only bound to be let down. So anytime I hear something is "awesome", I won't believe it until I watch/play/hear it myself. I always go in expecting a game/movie/CD to be okay and if it it's crap, it's not a huge let down and vice versa (it could blow me away).Mozgus wrote:It wasnt his fault for expecting that. Bioshock was incredibly overrated. I didn't like it much either.D.D.D. wrote:What do you expect when you go in with expectations as high as the sky? The press raved about it, but the narrative and moral choices really didn't grab me like I thought they would. I also saw the twist coming, but it was still a good one. I did however enjoy the atmosphere immensely.
I wouldn't call it pessimism but, I was just tired of being let down from hype.
